Salvation To Household
Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved-you and your household.
Now it happened, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, “Go in and kill them; let no one come out!” And they killed them with the edge of the sword; then the guards and the officers threw them out, and went into the inner room of the temple of Baal. And they brought the sacred pillars out of the temple of Baal and burned them.
Then they broke down the sacred pillar of Baal, and tore down the temple of Baal and made it a refuse dump to this day. (2 Kings 10: 25-27)
It happens in many cases that when one person turns to the Lord, those people who are closely connected to him, after seeing the fruits of change in that person also turn to the Lord.
Zacchaeus was a corrupt man who was held in low esteem in the then Jewish Society. Yet when Lord Jesus went to his house, He declared, “Today Salvation has come to this household.” The reason Lord Jesus spoke in this manner was because Zacchaeus truly repented. Scripture does not say anything about his wife or children repenting, yet Jesus emphatically declared that “Salvation has come to your household.”
When you truly accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and follow His teachings faithfully salvation will come to your entire household. Jehu obeyed God and faithfully did all that he was commanded to do. Because of this, the Lord God blessed his children to the third and fourth generations by making them sit on the throne of Israel.
This shows us what can happen if one man decides to obey God.
There is a generational blessing waiting to touch your family today.
You don’t wait for others in your family to change.
You take the first step. Give your life to Jesus and be firm in Christ.
Then others will see the fruits in you and they will also turn to the Lord. Hence your salvation can lead to the salvation of many other people.
Prayer Heavenly Father, I want that all my near and dear ones should be saved. Help me to be firm in Christ that I may bear fruits in my life that will attract others to Christ, thus leading them to salvation.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
